Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!
We share a commitment to building equity in access to the ocean, amplifying the voices of surfers of color, and taking care of the earth.
By becoming a Brown Girl Surf volunteer, you are becoming a crucial part of our community and our movement.
Brown Girl Surf does a volunteer intake once per year, during the January/February months. After our intake we have a series of volunteer trainings and workshops to build volunteer skills and connections. You may submit an application outside of our intake timeline; however, applications will not be reviewed until the Winter. We will contact you once our process is complete to let you know of your acceptance status!
A note to prospective volunteers:
Brown Girl Surf works to create learning spaces for our participants and for our staff. As a volunteer you are not expected to come to the beach as an expert, but rather we invite you to come as both a learner and a teacher! We welcome diverse perspectives and experiences and believe that all of us have something to contribute, and that we are all able to learn something new – either from each other or the ocean – each time we come together.
